Dashboard Confessional fandom history help [08 Nov 2007|06:37am]

If you've got a few minutes and know anything about the fans, Dashboard Confessional at Fan History Wiki could use your help. The fandom page is sort of like way empty. :( So if you could, please add information on what fans did when, any concert type cliques, cool things fans have done, story, art and vid makign done by fans, any information zines created by fans, etc. It is a wiki so anyone can edit it. :) Thanks for any help. :)

To any fan who has been to or will go to the Dashboard Confessional show... [04 Nov 2007|07:14pm]

 Hey guys,

I went to the DC show last week when they came to Toronto and it was SOOO AWESOME :). It was alot more intimate than the last time he was in Toronto. My bf even bought dashboard stickers too @ the show...except ..he gave them to me to carry..and then I lost them :(. and he's rather upset! And of course I can't find them anywhere on ebay or online..I guess they are only available from the concert.

If anyone who went to the show bought these stickers (the one with the red apple on it) or is going to show and wiling to help me buy some stickers, I would love to buy them off of you.. (of course I will pay for shipping etc.) Pleaseee let me know..I will be forever grateful! :)

This fall, critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Chris Carrabba will return to his roots with the release of The Shade of Poison Trees, Dashboard Confessional’s fifth album for longtime label Vagrant Records. The album marks a notable return to the signature acoustic sound that Carrabba first developed on early Dashboard Confessional albums like 2000’s The Swiss Army Romance and 2001’s The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most.

Recorded over 10 days in Florida with renowned producer Don Gilmore (Pearl Jam, Linkin Park), The Shade of Poison Trees is filled with the kind of earnest acoustic laments and smart, poetic lyrics that long ago turned Carrabba into a feverishly adored artist. While he continues to evolve as a songwriter throughout, the album is a significant return to the Dashboard of old, as well as a tip of the hat to fans that have spent the past nine years by his side.

When asked why he revisited his earlier stylings he responded, “I never really left.”

Over the past year, Dusk and Summer has received universal acclaim from such publications as Rolling Stone, Blender, Spin and the LA Times. And now, Dashboard has returned with The Shade of Poison Trees, an album that is sure to reconnect with the band’s longtime fans and further proving that Carrabba has become one of the most influential songwriters of his generation. Without question, The Shade of Poison Trees is Dashboard’s most personal album yet, and, to that end, Carrabba is set this fall to embark on a North American solo tour – his first in over five years.

[21 Jul 2006|09:21am]

i recently went on a three week vacation to hawai'i. unfortunately, the day I left happened to be June 27th (the release of Dusk and Summer of course). so, as soon as the plane touched down in Honolulu my brother drove me to Tower Records, as my first stop in Hawai'i, to buy Dusk and Summer. It's been a habit of mine to buy Dashboard's new album the day it is released. So, I bought the cd 3:00 PM Hawaiian-Aleutian time or 9:00 PM Eastern-Standard Time.

That night I listened to the album on my cd player and let it sink in.

my review of the albumCollapse )x-posted
